BLUE VALLEY GOLF CLUB NEWS
Men’s Midam team
outh Africans have really had a torrid
time recently - the COVID-19 pandemic
Shas been especially devastating. Added
to this, the recent looting and ongoing
loadshedding has resulted in a country in
crisis. Thank goodness golf has been one
outlet that removes us momentarily from the
current harsh reality of what is happening
in the country. Rest assured, things will get
better and we all have to play our part in
rebuilding our great country.
The Blue Valley golf course continues to be in
fabulous condition. Hats off to the owner, golf
course management as well as Rob Sheasby
and his Servest team for keeping our course
in pristine condition. Blue Valley recently
hosted the GNGU Senior and Midam closed,
and all the participants were singing the
praises of our wonderful course. To all who
played a part, well done!
Congratulations to Les Gordon, the Blue
Valley C division men’s champion. Les played
at the Champion of Champions recently and
won the event, beating all the other club’s C
division winners. Les will now represent Blue
Valley and his province (GNGU) at the national
finals. Congratulations to Bev Meerholz,
Grant Turner and Craig Duncan who also
represented Blue Valley at Zwartkops CC.
Our next big event is the winter club
championship. This will be held in August
and will be played over 36 holes over two
days. Sunday’s round will be followed by
a members braai which is open to all our
members and their families.
