AFRICAN FISH

EAGLE

The African Fish Eagle, a large and
impressive bird, is easily recognised by
its white head and chest, contrasted
with a dark brown body and wings. These
birds favour habitats near water bodies
and primarily feed on fish. They are
exceptional soarers, circling effortlessly
over the water for long durations as they
search for prey. Upon sighting a fish,
they plunge headfirst into the water in a
dramatic display to capture their meal.
