Q: What were the main problems in the home?
A: The face brick exterior, the outdated tiled floors, the wall-to-wall carpeting
and the yellow toned walls.

Q: What were the solutions?
A: Painting the exterior face brick walls, laying laminate wood flooring
throughout the house, repainting the entire house interior in a light grey,
removing all the old curtain rails and installing new wooden rails at the top of
the wall just beneath the ceiling to give extra height. All the old light fittings,
light switches and plugs were removed and replaced with modern ones.

Q: What features did you want for the entertainment areas?
A: Light, clean lines but with comfort.

Q: And bedrooms/ bathrooms?
A: The bathrooms were re-tiled and the bedrooms updated.

Q: When is the home at its best in the
year?
A: All year round, each season comes with a
change of feeling to the home. When winter
arrives, out come the extra throws on the
sides of couches etc. The large sliding doors
stay closed but there is still light, and views
of the garden. Summer is all about outdoor
living, the inside of the home flows easily to
the outside.

Q: What is the garden about? What were
some of the plants that you chose and
why?
A: The flower beds have aloes and cactus in
them, as these don’t require a lot of water. I
tend to keep flowers in pots as they can be
changed, depending on the season.
