FAMily cAMp out At

FourWAyS GArdenS eStAte

ur first Family Camp Out
was hosted on Saturday,
8 May 2021 in the Phase 1
OPark. It was touch and go
as the heavens opened during the
morning but by 2pm, the sun was
shining, the lawn dried and eager
campers descended on the park to set
up.

For many children, it was their
first taste of camping, but they all
thoroughly enjoyed the evening with
friends and family. As South African
Tradition dictates, while the dads
were lighting the braai fires, some
boys started an impromptu rugby
match on the side while the moms
and girls chatted and settled in.

To say the night was freezing is an
understatement! A few campers
disappeared during the night to
the comfort of their own beds but
the majority stayed the night. Some
stayed at the campfires as long as
possible to keep warm but even the
cold couldn’t dampen the excitement
for the children of roasting
marshmallows over the fire and doing
something totally different with their
friends.

Thankfully, the Roast Re:Public coffee
truck was ready to serve by 7am the next
