4Paws and Dogs Trust

Fourways Gardens residents opened up their hearts
to the dogs of Diepsloot and surrounding areas.
Not only did the animals have to deal with freezing
temperatures but the riots left lots of frightened dogs
displaced and some injured. Our contributions have
helped both 4Paws and Dogs Trust.

Fourways Gardens contributed to the collection for
Dogs Trust, donating over 800kg of dry dog food as
well as nearly 67 tins. The meat is such a treat for the
dogs in Diepsloot. Approximately 300 dogs were
helped and you can see, in the pictures, the young
children bringing their pups to meet Dogs Trust.
On Mandela Day, the Dogs Trust team dewormed
and medicated close to 50 pups. Approximately
200 dogs were dipped. And over 300 beds/blankets
were handed out and put into kennels.

Dogs Trust takes stray or injured animals to the vet or
to Manderston Kennels in Midrand. Lisa Manderston
takes care of them but vet fees and kennel fees have
to be paid.

4Paws is a shelter near Steyn City. They have over
100 dogs and cats to care for in their shelter and they
walk every single dog every single day. They are often
looking for volunteers just to walk the dogs. 4Paws
received many cat and dog bowls, as well as bags and
tins of cat and dog food. Medicine was also donated
and gratefully appreciated by the 4Paws Team. 4Paws
received some cat trees; steps for older dogs; and lots
of leashes and collars.

It was an amazing contribution from our community.
I am so proud to live here. All the contributions
were so appreciated - it was incredible to see all the
donations stacking up in my garage.

They have so many puppies there please, please go
and visit and adopt.
