Waiter Welfare
Initiative revived

In July 2021, a few weeks shy of Mandela
Day, we saw the third wave of Covid surging
through Gauteng (and Fourways Gardens).
The adjusted Level 4 Lockdown rules kicked
in and, once again, the Clubhouse had to
close down in-house dining.

In order to offset the loss of income and
tips for the waiters and with some kitchen
staff being unable to work, the residents of
Fourways Gardens once more decided to
support the dedicated team who always
serve us with a smile. Over 50 families
donated food, money and time, and as a
result, the community handed over food
hampers and just over R18 000 in cash
donations to Marc and his team.

Some of the younger kids also did a repeat
of their 2020 Polar Bear Swim fundraiser,
even collecting donations from family
members abroad as a result!

Many thanks to all the residents who once
again supported this worthy cause. Your
participation is what makes the community
in this estate unbeatable!
