ON YOUR BIKE!
he new cycle track in Phase 1 is proving very popular,
offering residents the opportunity to enjoy the great
outdoors safely and conveniently close to home. We’re
Tstill refining sections of the track, and once the paths
have been ridden more, we’ll assess and update them. So, if you
ever needed an excuse to get on your bikes, folks, this is it!
We’re currently adding three different height drop-offs, making
the track a great way for novices and intermediate riders to
hone their skills and have fun. Speaking of skills, you can look
forward to bike skills clinics for children and adults, a kids’ bike
licence initiative and bike participation afternoons in the future.
This wonderful addition to the estate would not have been
possible without the very generous contributions of Mellow
Velo Cycles, 24/7 Security and Paul’s Gates. Our enthusiastic trail
builder, Murray van Zyl, worked tirelessly with his team to create
a great track with minimal environmental impact. Logistics were
managed by our GM, Kevin Nicholson, who also provided free
sand and clay to build berms and jumps. A big thank you to all of
them for turning a plan into a resource we can all enjoy.
A quick reminder of the rules:
• Helmets are compulsory.
• This is a cyclist-only area for everyone’s safety, so joggers,
walkers and dogs are not allowed on the track.
• A register will be provided at the entrance to help us monitor
utilisation, so please be sure to sign in.
The track is available for use by residents between
6am and 6pm every day.
