TAKE CENTRE STAGE AT FOURWAyS ROAd
RUNNERS EvENING
n a chilly Thursday evening,
the Fourways Road Runners
and Fourways Gardens Estate
Oco-hosted a mix of runners,
residents, and trail running enthusiasts for
a special roadshow event.
Following our regular time trial, which
gave attendees the chance to run an
8km, 5km, and 4km route around Phase
2, we gathered together in the Gazebo
to welcome Hilary Bruss, race organiser
for Mont Aux-Sources Ultra Trail, and
Noluthando Mbata from Wild Trust. Their
presence brought an excited buzz to the
evening as they shared the event’s promo
video from 2024, as well as inspiring stories
and route update information about one
of South Africa’s most iconic ultra-distance
trail races.
The Mont Aux-Sources Ultra Trail is more
than a race - it’s a journey through some
of the most breathtaking landscapes the
Drakensberg has to offer. With a route
that traverses rugged escarpments and
climbs to great heights, it should be
on the bucket list of every runner. Wild
Trust, co-organisers and passionate
conversationists, added a compelling
dimension to the night’s discussion by
highlighting how the event supports vital
environmental initiatives in the region.
The evening sparked much excitement,
admiration, and even a few new training
goals among those in attendance. It was a
celebration not just of physical endurance,
but of nature, community, and the shared
spirit of adventure.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to the
Mont Aux-Sources and Wild Trust teams,
as well as their generous sponsors, who
contributed some incredible prizes won
on the evening. On behalf of Fourways
Road Runners, we also extend our sincere
thanks to Fourways Gardens for their
continued partnership and support in co-
hosting such a memorable evening.
