together with soft landscaping, to ultimately create
a ‘green’ wall surrounding the courts; at the same
time, the soft landscaping was integrated into the
surrounding Strandveld vegetation.
Installation of the padel courts was managed by
the Atlantic Beach Estate & Links Club, in partnership
with Padeltop for the design, construction, supply
and installation of the courts, Terraforce for the
retaining walls, and other professionals and service
providers.
The two courts were supplied as complete units,
including LED lighting to offer a sustainable solution
for night-time use. The lowering of the level of the
courts also complemented the lighting solution.
Hard landscaping elements
These comprise the following:

them provide an elevated view over the courts;
• Round stepping stones of various sizes in three
different natural colour tones - white, grey and
terracotta; and
• Dark grey charcoal pots filled with tall Aloes,
groundcovers and Gazania spp.
Beneficial outcome
The addition of the retaining wall, its planting and
the padel courts have enhanced the variety of
offerings at Atlantic Beach Estate & Links Club and its
commitment to the environment.
