EXCURSION

wo field excursions took place on 15
February in the Silver Lakes Game
TReserve and the theme for the day
was Connecting to Nature.

During the first walk through the Silver
Lakes Game Reserve, the focus was on
the big and the small species found in
the Reserve. This included plant species,
as well. The talk focused on why we find
various species in their specific habitat
as well as information on the various
species. We were privileged to have
close encounters with the sable, blesbok,
springbok and a variety of bird species.

The second walk was aimed at children
at primary school level by playing
environmental games while learning
about the environment in the Nature
Reserve. The goal is to educate the
children, making them more aware of their
environment and who will hopefully grow
into adults who make positive changes to
the world they live in.
The excursion was very informative and
all attendees certainly learned a lot and
enjoyed a morning out in nature.
