MESSAGE FROM THE CEO

THE SPIRIT OF GIVING AT SILVER LAKES

Dear residents,

With the upcoming AGM and the recently
concluded elections, it’s easy to get caught
up in the seriousness of these matters.
Therefore, I thought it would be refreshing
to take a breather and shed some light on
the social responsibilities that Silver Lakes
has embraced over the past 12 months.
In the words of Ben Carson: “Happiness
doesn’t result from what you get, but from
what you give.”

Over the past year, our community has
made generous donations to various
projects, including the Eersterus
Christmas Toy Drive, the Blood Drive,
SPCA, the Woolies Winter Drive, and bra
donations for Breast Cancer Awareness,
to name a few. Additionally, the Silver
Lakes Homeowners Association (SLHOA)
has made significant contributions and
sponsorships to several organisations.
Here is a brief overview of some of the
foundations we supported and the impact
of our contributions:

Paul Jungnickel Home
The Paul Jungnickel Home provides
residential and medical care to 140 adults
with severe and profound disabilities,
between the ages of 18 and 60. Each
individual in the home is given the utmost
care and provided with stimulating
activities. Silver Lakes donated various
items for Christmas gifts, bringing joy and
comfort to the residents.
