ESTATE NEWS

        Huis Silversig
SAVF Huis Silversig, established on 13 September 1980,
is a home for the frail elderly. It’s located at 513 Jasmine
Avenue in Silverton, Pretoria. It offers 24-hour care for
125 frail elderly people, including a unit for women
with dementia. The home is run by dedicated and
compassionate staff who provide immense love and
care. Silver Lakes sponsored a Christmas lunch, bringing
        festive cheer to the residents.

        Jakaranda Kinderhuis
Jakaranda Kinderhuis cares for children placed by the
Children’s Court, managing two premises in Pretoria:
Jakaranda Kinderhuis in East Lynne and Louis Botha
Kinderhuis in Queenswood. The homes provide a safe
and loving environment for children aged three to 18
years, with houseparents caring for groups of children
around the clock. Silver Lakes made a donation to
support their therapy by getting trampolines.

        Chess Club Sponsorship
Silver Lakes sponsored 20 less fortunate chess players,
enabling them to participate in a chess tournament held
at Silver Lakes. This sponsorship provided these young
minds with the opportunity to develop their skills and
enjoy a competitive yet nurturing environment.

        SPCA Tshwane
As an animal welfare organisation, SPCA Tshwane strives
to prevent cruelty to, and the exploitation of, animals.
The organisation promotes animal welfare, enforces
protection legislation, and prosecutes offenders. Silver
Lakes donated food and sponsored a cat and a dog
kennel for the year, helping to provide a safe haven for
        these animals.

        Pretoria Dog Rescue
Pretoria Dog Rescue (PDR) is a registered non-profit
organisation founded in 2013 to address the plight of
stray, neglected, abused and homeless dogs. Over the
past year, PDR has re-homed numerous dogs, giving
them a chance at a better life. Silver Lakes contributed
by donating dog food, thereby supporting the rescue
service’s efforts to care for and find homes for these
        dogs.

The generosity of our residents and the collective spirit
of giving at Silver Lakes is truly heartwarming. Thank you
all for your support and contributions, which have made
a significant difference in the lives of many individuals
and animals in our community. Together we continue to
embody the true essence of giving and compassion.

        Warm regards,
        Dean Pretorius
