THE AMAZING
RACE WATERFALL
CITY 2025
A smash hit, as rain fails to dampen spirits
A fter last year’s runaway
success, The Amazing Race
Waterfall City, powered
by Balwin Properties,
returned on Saturday, 18 October
2025. It once again transformed the
city into a playground of adrenaline,
laughter, and pure adventure,
uniquely and excitingly bringing
the local community together.
This year’s edition saw 59 teams of
friends, families, and colleagues dive
headfirst into the action. Cracking
cryptic clues, tackling physical and
mental challenges, and racing against
the clock through some of Waterfall
City’s most iconic hotspots. With new
twists, more challenging clues, and
amplified fun, The Amazing Race
Waterfall City proved it’s more than
just a competition, it’s an experience.
A day of teamwork, surprises, and
unforgettable memories that brought
people together and showcased
Waterfall City in a whole new light.
“Last year we had 54 teams and
240 people – this year we had
60 teams and 300 people registered
to compete. It was a sold out
event!” says Chanté van den Berg,
Marketing Coordinator, Waterfall
City Management Company. “And
it really was a major success with a
59 team turnout despite the weather.
While we were setting up, the
heavens opened and it just poured
and poured, but we were pleasantly
surprised by the number of teams
who actually showed up, and their
excitement and commitment were
admirable.”
