STRESS
RELIEF IN
NATURE
orking regular acts of
self-care into our lives is
Wcrucial to managing stress
and exhaustion, and contributes to
overall physical, emotional and mental
well-being. Steenberg Hotel & Spa
in the Cape is offering two summer
experiences to do just this, in the form
of a package called Scented Bliss. The
co-founder of K’Alma Spas in Miami,
Florida, Marizza Contreras, says that
“spas are offering treatments that
emphasise connecting with natural
surroundings, and natural elements
have an abundance of healing
properties. Those who are more in
sync with nature tend to have calmer
nervous systems, positive attitudes,
and a better overall well-being.
The treatments offered by Steenberg
are designed to ease tight muscles and
soothe stress and take place in the
hotel’s Scented Garden. They comprise
a herbal oil massage, pressure point foot
massage and scalp ritual. The garden is
a secluded haven with fragrant flora
and a towering oak tree, enabling
guests to immerse themselves in
nature’s scenes, sounds and scents, and
segue into a peaceful state. After the
treatments, the Scented Bliss package
is concluded with a bottle of Steenberg
1682 Chardonnay Cap Classique and a
refreshing dip in the pool.
Alternatively, guests can opt for one
of the spa’s three beneficial massage
treatments. For pain relief and immune
boosting, the CBD wellness journey is
recommended; for circulation and toxin
elimination, the Bellabaci signature
massage, and for fatigue and insomnia,
the muscle and joint magnesium
therapy massage. A sensory journey
at Steenberg would not be complete
