SALI Award
Execuflora received a SALI double gold award
at the 2024 Awards of Excellence, held in July
in Stellenbosch. The project was entered in
the category of Indoor Plantscaping.

Initially, the design team wanted to make
use of terracotta planters. However, due
to time constraints the associated costs
would have been less than the minimum
requirements for the Green Building
Council. Recyclable planters in a matt
finish were selected, complementing the
space. They were also more cost-effective
and carried a quicker turnaround, falling
in line with sustainability requirements.
For the open plan areas, Execuflora opted
to use the client’s existing planters which
they repainted to the colour specifications
of the various areas. Shum says that this
decision was part of their re-use and
