STEVE TROLLIP

(1949 – 2024)

I t is with sadness that SANA announces the passing of a friend and past

member, Steve Trollip.
Educated at Jeppe Boys High in Johannesburg, Steve used a
large supply of forestry bark chip off-cuts to establish his Brits-based
company, Bark Enterprises, in the early 1990s.
A passion for cycads encouraged him to grow thousands of them from
seed in shade houses on his property in Letsitele, Limpopo. Over the
years, he became a well-known cycad expert, travelling the world to
cycad conferences. Many of his cycads eventually found a home in the
gardens of his beloved Amafu Forest Lodge in Kamperus, Hoedspruit.
SANA and its members offer their sincere condolences to Lelanie, his
family and friends at this sad time.
