and weavers brought a burst of
colour to the scene.
A pause in our walk brought attention
to culturally significant trees and a
light-hearted moment reflecting on
the uniquely South African tradition
of “bokdrol-spoeg”. Amid the casual
banter, the conversation reverted to
the key message: highlighting the
importance of conserving natural
resources and recognising the value
of the small components that sustain
our ecosystems.
As the morning unfolded and nature
revealed itself to us, we were
all reminded about the delicate
balance of nature, prompting us to
appreciate the subtleties that make
our surroundings worth preserving.
These walks are open to residents
of all ages. They involve educational
games and learning about the
environment through play – while
enabling participants to make
friends and have a great time in the
bush.
As you can tell, we spent a beautiful
Summer’s morning out in nature.

next field excursion.
